Houthi Attack on Shabwa Forces: Death Toll Rises to 82
The death toll from the Houthi attack on security and police forces in Shabwa has risen to 82 recruits, with the number of injured also increasing and their conditions varying in severity.
On October 19, the local authority in Shabwa governorate issued a statement detailing the toll of a Houthi ballistic missile attack on a security training and rehabilitation center. The statement noted that at least 53 recruits were killed and more than 200 others were injured, according to preliminary figures.
A day later, the toll from the Houthi attack rose to more than 70 dead and over 250 wounded.
The Houthis launched an attack with several ballistic missiles on a security training and rehabilitation center in Shabwa, which the local authority in the governorate described as "a very dangerous military escalation and a blatant assault on the security and stability of Shabwa governorate, revealing once again the scale of the threat posed by Houthi militias to military and security facilities and the lives of their members."
