Foreign Currency Exchange Rates vs. Yemeni Rial, Tuesday, October 13, 2026

Foreign currency exchange rates against the Yemeni Rial remain stable, showing no change during today's trading, Tuesday, October 13, 2026, in either Aden or Sana'a. This is despite the continued intermittent rise in commodity prices and ongoing battles and military escalation on multiple fronts.
According to the latest data from exchange shops, the Saudi Riyal is exchanged in government-controlled areas for about 414 Yemeni Rials, while the exchange rate for the US Dollar is about 1570 Rials.
In Houthi-controlled areas, the exchange rate for the Saudi Riyal and the US Dollar remains stable, with the Saudi Riyal being exchanged for about 140 Yemeni Rials, while the US Dollar exchange rate ranges between 530 and 535 Rials.
This comes amid complaints of a continued rise in the prices of goods and services, despite the stability of foreign currency exchange rates in most parts of the country.
The current exchange rates also come amidst the ongoing financial and economic challenges faced by both government- and Houthi-controlled areas, in a country experiencing one of the world's worst humanitarian and economic crises.
