U.S. President Donald Trump said in a post on his "Truth Social" platform that his country is holding productive talks with Iran, coinciding with Iran's announcement that it is studying an American proposal and will respond in the coming days.

Trump added: "We will not launch any attack on Iran before the midterm elections scheduled for November 3," stressing that Iran will not possess a nuclear weapon.

He continued: Iran is in a very bad situation, both economically and militarily, and our naval blockade is in full force and effect.

He said: Oil is flowing through the Strait of Hormuz in record quantities, reaching 22 million barrels last night alone, with none of it coming from or going to Iran.

In the same context, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said on Thursday that negotiations with the United States are ongoing through the exchange of messages, and that his country is studying an American proposal and will respond within days.

This came in statements Araghchi made to the press in the capital, Tehran, regarding the ongoing negotiations with Washington, according to official Iranian television.

Araghchi explained that the negotiations with the United States continue in the form of message exchanges through intermediaries. He added: "We presented our plan under the title of the 'Seven-Day Plan,' and in return, we listened to the views of the American side." He indicated that his country is studying the American proposal, saying: "I believe we will provide our response within the next few days."
