AFP: Nearly 100 killed in fierce battles in western Yemen

Agence France-Presse (AFP) reported that nearly 100 people from government forces and the Houthi group were killed in battles described as the most violent in weeks, which took place on Tuesday on the Kahboub and Bab al-Mandab fronts in western Yemen.
This comes as confrontations between government forces and the Houthis have escalated on several fronts, coinciding with airstrikes targeting Houthi sites, gatherings, and vehicles.
On Tuesday evening, the Nation Shield Forces and the Giants Brigades announced they had seized control of strategic military sites north of Lahj governorate, shot down a drone, and destroyed military vehicles after fierce battles.
This occurs amid the continued military escalation between government forces and the Houthi group since last July, which has resulted in thousands of people killed and injured, as well as the displacement of hundreds of thousands of civilians.
