Agency: Syria to send thousands of soldiers to fight the Houthis

Agence France-Presse quoted Yemeni government and military sources as saying that Syria will send about 3,000 soldiers to participate in the fight against the Houthis as part of the Saudi-led coalition.
The sources added to the agency that the dispatch of soldiers was agreed upon during the recent visit of Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa to Riyadh.
The agency noted that Syrian forces on the Yemeni side of the border are leading drone operations against the Houthis in the region.
It noted that the agreement stipulates the deployment of more than 10,000 Syrian fighters in total, in stages, pointing out that technical teams from the Syrian and Saudi defense ministries are working in Riyadh to finalize arrangements for the participation of Syrian forces in operations against the Houthis.
