German police forcibly dispersed a pro-Palestine demonstration organized in the capital, Berlin.

Over a thousand people gathered in Oranienplatz on Wednesday evening to protest the genocide committed by Israel in Gaza, before marching towards Hermannplatz.

In addition to Palestinian flags, the protesters carried signs and banners that read: "Genocide does not justify another genocide," "The only fault of Palestinians is their existence," "On October 7, the mask of Zionism fell and the world witnessed its atrocities," "Intifada," and "No peace on stolen land."

The participants also protested Germany's support for Israel, chanting slogans including: "Israel burns children and Germany stands behind it," "Palestine under occupation," "Gaza," "Freedom for Palestine," and "Israel is a war criminal."

The police temporarily stopped the demonstration on Skalitzer Strasse, before later allowing the march to resume.

The police intervened forcefully near the Kottbusser Tor metro station, detaining a large number of protesters, preventing the march from continuing in the area, and then ended the demonstration, stating that "public safety was seriously endangered."

The police demanded that the protesters leave the area and detained several who did not comply with the request.
