Coalition: Houthi Drone Intercepted and Destroyed in Makkah Region
The spokesman for the Arab Coalition, Turki Al-Maliki, announced on Friday the interception and destruction of a drone launched by the Houthi group towards the Makkah region.
This was announced in a post by Al-Maliki on his official "X" platform account, in which he stated that air defenses managed to intercept and destroy the drone in the Makkah region, without providing further details about the interception time or the nature of its intended target.
There has been no immediate comment from the Houthi group regarding the announcement.
This comes amid an ongoing military escalation between Saudi Arabia and the Houthi group since last July, with renewed confrontations in Yemen and an expansion of mutual attacks to include Saudi territory.
