The Egyptian Parliament has called for an emergency session tomorrow, Sunday, at the request of President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, who stated earlier today that his country is ready to take any action required by Saudi Arabia to defend its security and sovereignty.

The General Secretariat of the House of Representatives announced that a general session of the council will be held at 1:00 PM tomorrow, Sunday, at the request of the President of the Republic, according to the Middle East News Agency.

The Egyptian President had called on the parliament to hold an emergency session to authorize this move if requested by Riyadh, and said that his country would not allow the security or stability of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to be compromised.

During a speech at a graduation ceremony for a class of students from the Egyptian Military Academy, Sisi affirmed Cairo's readiness to take necessary measures to defend the Kingdom.

The Egyptian President added that his country does not seek war or to attack any party, but rather acts with the aim of defense, appealing to all parties in the Gulf region to work to stop the ongoing war.
