Hadramout: Medical center performs three emergency and complex heart surgeries in 24 hours
The surgical team at the Nabd Al-Hayah Center for Heart Disease and Surgery in Mukalla, the capital of Hadramout governorate, successfully performed three emergency and complex heart surgeries within 24 hours.
Led by Dr. Mohammed Al-Taghlibi, a consultant adult cardiac surgeon at the center, the team performed the first operation on a patient in his fifties who was suffering from severe chest pain. He underwent an urgent operation to replace three coronary arteries, all of which were blocked.
This was followed by the admission of the second case, a young man in his thirties with a widespread aortic dissection, one of the most critical emergencies in cardiac surgery. He underwent a complex surgical procedure that lasted more than six hours and was successful.
The medical team continued its efforts by admitting the third case, a man in his sixties who suffered from severe chest pain and fluid accumulation in his lungs. After an urgent cardiac catheterization, the medical team decided on immediate surgical intervention, where he successfully underwent a four-coronary artery bypass operation.
