Reuters: Plumes of Smoke Rise Near Riyadh Airport
Reuters news agency quoted an eyewitness as saying that flames and a thick plume of black smoke rose near Riyadh airport on Saturday.
This came after the Saudi Civil Defense announced the end of the state of danger in the capital, Riyadh, hours after issuing a second warning of a potential danger in Riyadh and the city of Al-Kharj, located east of the capital.
The Civil Defense said, in separate posts on the "X" platform, that "the danger has passed" in Riyadh, Al-Kharj, and Farasan, without clarifying the nature of the danger that prompted the alerts.
According to Civil Defense announcements since the beginning of Saturday, alerts were repeatedly issued via the National Early Warning Platform for emergencies twice in both Riyadh and Al-Kharj, while an alert was issued in Farasan, before the danger was later declared over in the three locations.
