Taiz: Girl Killed, 6 Family Members Injured in Houthi Shelling

A girl was killed and six others from her family and relatives, all women and children, were injured in a Houthi mortar shelling that targeted a house in Taiz governorate, southwestern Yemen.
Government media sources reported that the shelling targeted the house of citizen Bassam Mahmoud Hazaa in the village of 'Kahlan,' south of Sabir Mountain, resulting in the death of the child Maya Bassam Hazaa (7 years old) and the injury of six others.
The sources added that a Houthi sniper fired on the ambulance as it was attempting to transport the injured, which obstructed their rescue and forced residents to move them to a safe area to complete their evacuation.
The list of the injured included Ilaf Bassam, a baby girl, Majd (9 years old), and Nihal (21 years old), who are Maya's siblings, in addition to Maria Adel Abdulghani Saad (25 years old), Duaa Abdulkarim Saif Abd (24 years old), and Yasser Abdulkarim (two years old).
The six were injured by scattered shrapnel to the face and other parts of the body as a result of the shelling.
