Foreign Currency Exchange Rates vs. Yemeni Rial, Wednesday, October 21, 2026
Foreign currency exchange rates against the Yemeni rial continue to show relative stability, according to the latest data for today's transactions, Wednesday, October 21, 2026, in Aden and Sana'a.
According to the latest data from exchange shops, the Saudi riyal in government-controlled areas is exchanged for about 411 Yemeni rials for buying and 413 for selling, while the US dollar exchange rate is about 1568 rials for buying and 1579 rials for selling.
In Houthi-controlled areas, the Saudi riyal is exchanged for about 139.50 Yemeni rials for buying and sold at 140.20, while the US dollar exchange rate ranges between 533-535 rials.
This comes amid complaints of rising prices for goods and services, despite the stability of foreign currency exchange rates in most parts of the country. The current exchange rates also come amidst the ongoing financial and economic challenges facing Yemen in general.
