Coalition Denies Threatening Yemeni Tribes, Calls Houthi Narrative 'False Allegations'

The Saudi-led coalition has denied what the Houthi group is promoting regarding the Kingdom's threat to target tribal and civilian gatherings in Yemen, describing these claims as "baseless and unfounded allegations."
The official spokesman for the Coalition forces, Major General Turki Al-Maliki, stated that these allegations aim to mislead public opinion and divert attention from the group's crises and practices, accusing it of attempting to involve Yemeni tribesmen in its conflicts.
Al-Maliki emphasized in a statement that the Yemeni tribe is a fundamental component of Yemen's social and historical fabric and a bridge for communication between the Yemeni and Saudi peoples, stressing that the ties between them are too deep to be undermined by disinformation campaigns or attempts to sow discord.
He added that Saudi Arabia maintains its position in support of Yemen's security and stability and is keen to preserve historical ties with the Yemeni people, preventing the exploitation of tribes or their involvement in conflicts that do not serve the Yemeni people's aspirations for security, peace, and development.
Earlier, the Minister of Defense in the Yemeni government, Lieutenant General Taher Al-Aqili, apologized to the tribesmen for a warning published by the Ministry of Defense's account on October 22 regarding tribal gatherings, describing the statement as "wrong and unacceptable," and announcing that the relevant authorities were directed to investigate it immediately.
He added that the Houthis' attempt to exploit the erroneous statement aims, according to him, to sow discord between the tribes and the armed forces, emphasizing the army's commitment to international humanitarian law and its customary rules in its military operations.
The Minister of Defense stressed that the tribes will remain a fundamental pillar in the national battle to restore the state and at the forefront of the confrontation with the Houthis.
