Al-Zandani visits wounded soldiers, directs hospital upgrades
On Saturday, Prime Minister Shayea Al-Zandani affirmed that the sacrifices of the wounded and injured members of the armed forces and other military formations will not be in vain. He pledged to continue providing them with medical care and treatment during an inspection visit to Abboud Military Hospital in the temporary capital, Aden.
During the visit, Al-Zandani was briefed on the condition of the wounded receiving treatment at the hospital. He listened to them describe their injuries and the level of care provided, praising their sacrifices on the front lines against the Houthis.
He stated that the state and government will not forget their sons who were injured or lost their lives while performing their national duty, describing the wounded as a "symbol of resilience and sacrifice" and considering their injuries a badge of honor in the nation's memory.
The Prime Minister directed that Abboud Military Hospital be supplied with the necessary provisions and its medical, technical, and logistical capabilities be enhanced to increase its capacity to receive the wounded and injured and provide them with treatment services.
Al-Zandani listened to briefings from the Minister of Public Health and Population Qasem Buhaibeh, hospital director Aref Al-Daeri, and the medical and nursing staff regarding the services provided to the wounded and the needs for expanding the hospital's capacity.
He emphasized the need to increase the readiness of military and civilian hospitals and health facilities to keep pace with field developments and address growing medical and humanitarian needs, stressing that caring for the wounded is a direct responsibility of the government until they recover.
Al-Zandani linked the enhancement of the health system's readiness to the Houthi's military escalation, noting that the current stage requires broad coordination on the fronts and in health and service facilities, considering hospitals a line of support for the armed forces.
He also referred to the announcement by the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, Rashad Al-Alimi, of general mobilization and a national call to arms, viewing it as an expression of the responsibility to defend the republic and state institutions, leading to the end of the Houthi coup and the restoration of state authority over all Yemeni territory.
For their part, the wounded expressed their appreciation for the Prime Minister's visit, affirming that it represents moral support for them and their colleagues on the fronts. They reiterated their commitment to their national duty and their readiness to continue their role in confronting the Houthis.
