Egyptian Defense Council Affirms Support to Protect Saudi Security

Egypt's National Defense Council affirmed providing all forms of support to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to defend its security and stability.
This came during the council's meeting on Sunday, chaired by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, and attended by the Speaker of Parliament, the Prime Minister, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, and a number of officials.
Mohamed El-Shenawy, the official spokesperson for the presidency, said that the National Defense Council reviewed the overall current regional developments and the dangerous situations in the region, especially in light of the escalating, unacceptable attacks against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
He added that the council "decided to stand in full support and complete solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, based on the historical relations and strong ties that bind the two brotherly peoples, considering them the heart of the Arab nation, and out of belief in the link between Saudi national security and Egyptian and Arab national security."
He pointed out that the meeting emphasized providing all necessary and possible forms of support to Saudi Arabia to defend its security and stability, and to protect its resources, territorial integrity, and Islamic holy sites.
The Egyptian Defense Council also decided to continue and intensify political and diplomatic efforts, in coordination with relevant regional and international parties, to contribute to de-escalating tensions in the entire region and peacefully resolving the crises it faces.
