Foreign Minister at Manama Dialogue: No regional stability without restoring state institutions and ending the siege of Taiz

Yemeni Foreign Minister, Afrah Al-Zouba, affirmed that achieving sustainable regional security is linked to restoring Yemen's state institutions and extending their authority over the entire country, stressing the necessity of confining weapons and the decision of war and peace to legitimate institutions.
Speaking at the "Foundations of Regional Security" session during the Manama Dialogue, Al-Zouba stated that the continued siege of Taiz constitutes a war crime that requires decisive international action to end it and permanently and safely open the roads.
She added that protecting the Bab el-Mandeb strait and international navigation requires addressing the sources of threat by enforcing the arms embargo, stopping Iranian support for the Houthi group, and supporting Yemen's state institutions.
The minister stressed that the Yemenis' restoration of their state institutions not only contributes to achieving internal stability but also helps protect the security of neighboring countries and secure global trade routes.
