Saudi Arabia, Washington Discuss Enhancing Defense Cooperation, Containing Houthi Escalation

Saudi Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman discussed on Monday with US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth enhancing strategic defense cooperation between the two countries, amid escalating regional tensions and continued Houthi attacks on the Kingdom.
Khalid bin Salman said in a post on the "X" platform that during a phone call with Hegseth, he reviewed the prospects for defense cooperation between the two countries and discussed regional and international developments with him.
He added that the talks addressed efforts to de-escalate and contain tensions in the region, in addition to the continued attacks by the Houthi group on the Kingdom.
