Shabwa Local Authority Reveals Toll of Houthi Bombing on a Training Center
The local authority in Shabwa governorate issued a statement on Monday, revealing the toll from a bombing carried out by the Houthis with several ballistic missiles on a security training and rehabilitation center. The statement noted that at least 53 recruits were killed and more than 200 others were injured, according to preliminary statistics.
The statement considered the targeting of new recruits in their preparation and qualification phase as "a very dangerous military escalation and a blatant attack on the security and stability of Shabwa governorate, and it once again reveals the extent of the threats posed by the Houthi militias to military and security installations and the lives of their personnel."
The local authority held the Houthis fully responsible for this attack and the resulting human losses among the people of Shabwa governorate, stressing that the scale of the tragedy cannot be met merely with condemnation and denunciation, but requires urgent military and security measures to prevent the recurrence of such attacks.
The statement called on the Presidential Leadership Council, the government, and the Coalition to Support Legitimacy to assume their responsibilities, expedite the provision of air defense systems, monitoring and early warning means, and enhance the defensive capabilities of Shabwa governorate.
