The head of the Houthi-affiliated Supreme Political Council said that the group will deal with anyone who stands with Saudi Arabia in accordance with Yemeni law.

Al-Mashat told the Houthi-run Saba agency: "We will determine how to deal with those who stand with the Saudi enemy in its aggression against Yemen according to the Yemeni law on classifying states, entities, and persons hostile to the Republic of Yemen."

Al-Mashat's statement came hours after the Egyptian House of Representatives approved President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi's request to take necessary defensive measures to support and assist the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia if Riyadh requests help, amid Houthi attacks.

Article 152 of the Egyptian Constitution stipulates that the President of the Republic is the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and does not declare war, nor send the armed forces on a combat mission outside the state's borders, except after consulting the National Defense Council and with the approval of a two-thirds majority of the House of Representatives.

Egyptian media reported that Parliament voted on the decision by roll call, as required by the constitution, which stipulates the approval of a two-thirds majority of the council to send the armed forces on a combat mission outside the state's borders after consulting the National Defense Council.
