Seiyun: Global Pharmacovigilance Week Events Launched with Awareness Exhibition
The events of the Global Pharmacovigilance Week launched on Monday in the city of Seiyun, Hadramout province. The week is organized by the Supreme Authority for Drugs and Medical Supplies in cooperation with the National Center for Pharmacovigilance and runs from November 2 to 8, under the theme «Drug Safety».
The events include awareness programs and activities aimed at promoting a culture of safe medication use, educating about the risks of random and irrational use of pharmaceutical products, and raising community awareness about the importance of adhering to medical guidelines.
The Assistant Undersecretary of Hadramout Governorate for the Affairs of the Valley and Desert Districts, Abdulhadi Al-Tamimi, stressed the importance of intensifying drug safety awareness efforts and strengthening the partnership between health and academic institutions to reduce the risks of incorrect medication use. Meanwhile, specialists reviewed the importance of pharmacovigilance in monitoring and reporting adverse drug reactions and side effects.
Following the launch, the Assistant Undersecretary and his companions opened a specialized awareness exhibition that presents the concepts of drug safety and the methods for correct and safe medication use, contributing to protecting community health and promoting sound pharmaceutical practices.
