Yemeni Community in Austria Demands Vienna End Houthi Siege on Taiz

The Yemeni community in Austria organized a protest on Friday in front of the UN headquarters in Vienna, demanding an end to the siege imposed by the Houthi group on the city of Taiz and condemning the attacks targeting civilians in the governorate and other Yemeni areas.
The protesters, led by the community's president Tariq Al-Muqrin and members of the administrative board, raised demands to open roads for civilian movement and allow the entry of food, medicine, and essential supplies into the city.
A statement issued from the protest called for classifying the Houthi group as a terrorist organization, cutting off its sources of armament and funding, and investigating its alleged violations and holding those responsible accountable.
The statement also urged the European Union and the international community to take a firm stance against the continued siege and attacks on Taiz, and the resulting deterioration of the humanitarian situation and restricted access to water, food, and medicine for the population.
The statement said that the continued obstruction of essential supplies and depriving the population of their basic needs places the international community before its moral and legal responsibilities.
