Gold prices saw a rise in Sana'a and Aden on Tuesday, despite slight variations from one shop to another.

The price of a 21-carat gold gram in Aden reached about 173,000 Yemeni rials of the new currency, while in Sana'a it reached about 59,000 rials of the old currency.

As for the gold pound (8 grams of 21-carat), it exceeded 1,395,000 rials in Aden, while in Sana'a it surpassed 479,000 rials.

These are the prices for buying from citizens, while they increase slightly when sold to customers, as a profit margin is calculated for each gram of the yellow metal.

The exchange rate of the local currency differs between Houthi-controlled areas and government-controlled areas; the dollar exchange rate in Sana'a is about 535 rials, compared to 1,560 rials in areas under the internationally recognized government.

It is worth noting that gold prices change from time to time and vary relatively from one shop to another in Yemen's markets, depending on global and local market movement, supply, and demand.
