Foreign currency exchange rates against the Yemeni rial remained stable on Monday, with no significant changes compared to previous days, despite a shortage in the availability of the US dollar and Saudi riyal.

Banking sources told Al-Mahriah Net that the exchange rate for the Saudi riyal in exchange shops and companies in government-controlled areas reached 410 rials.

The sources added that the price of the US dollar reached about 1,560 Yemeni rials.

Meanwhile, the Yemeni rial has remained stable in Houthi-controlled areas for years, with the Saudi riyal exchanging for about 140 rials, and the US dollar between 535 and 540 rials, amid complaints of rising prices despite the currency's stability.

This comes amidst ongoing financial challenges throughout Yemen, which is facing one of the world's worst humanitarian and economic crises.
