Phone Call Between President Al-Alimi and Sheikh Al-Mekhlafi Amid Escalating Clashes with Houthis in Taiz
The Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, Rashad Al-Alimi, made a phone call to the head of the Supreme Council of Popular Resistance, Sheikh Hamoud Saeed Al-Mekhlafi, amid escalating clashes between government forces and the Houthi group in the city of Taiz.
According to the Supreme Council of Popular Resistance, the call addressed the developments on the battlefronts, particularly in Taiz and Marib, as well as the ongoing preparations to bolster the resilience of the forces defending the city.
During the call, Al-Mekhlafi reviewed what he described as the efforts of the Popular Resistance alongside the armed forces on various fronts, affirming their continued readiness to confront the Houthis and stressing the importance of unifying efforts to restore state institutions.
Al-Mekhlafi also expressed his appreciation for Al-Alimi's follow-up on the field developments, especially on the Taiz front, considering the coordination between the Popular Resistance and the armed forces a key factor in confronting the Houthis, achieving the battle's objectives, and restoring state institutions.
