Government Forces Announce Retaking Control of Sites in Al-Maqatirah, Lahj Governorate
The national army announced on Tuesday the recapture of sites from the Houthis in the Lahj governorate, southwest of the country.
The army stated in a statement that its forces "managed to recapture sites in the Al-Khazan Al-Ahmar area on the Al-Nusairah front, Al-Sawalihah sub-district, in the Al-Maqatirah district, north of Lahj governorate, and defeated the terrorist Houthi militias supported by the Iranian regime".
It added that "the army's artillery targeted militia gatherings and equipment in the Al-Sukhir sites, and is engaged in a fierce confrontation in the Mu'ayq and An'an area on the Al-Maqatirah front".
It also mentioned that the army forces "repelled attacks by the Houthi militia, reinforced with vehicles and a tank, which it pushed towards the Karibah line and Hayjat al-Abd from the direction of Al-Turbah and Al-Wazi'iyah in Taiz, and succeeded in preventing the militia's advance and forcing it to stop in the Al-Sharj area after clashes that lasted for hours".
It added that the army forces "repelled attacks carried out by the Houthi militia in the vicinity of the Al-Karb and Al-Mimshah mountains on the Al-A'bous front, Hayfan district, south of Taiz, and engaged in heroic clashes with the militia, inflicting losses in lives and equipment".
