Government Forces Advance in Same' and Repel Houthi Attack on Jabal Han in Taiz
Government forces said on Saturday that they had made field advances on the Same' front, southeast of Taiz, while simultaneously repelling a Houthi attack on Jabal Han and engaging in clashes on several fronts in the governorate.
The Armed Forces' Media Center quoted a military source as saying that government forces, backed by the Popular Resistance and warplanes, managed in the past hours to take control of the Same' fortress and its surrounding areas, following battles that he said resulted in heavy losses in life and equipment among the Houthis.
The source added that in the early hours of this morning, the forces repelled a wide-scale attack launched by the Houthis on Jabal Han and other positions on the western front of Taiz city, supported by heavy covering fire, noting that the attack ended with the attackers retreating and several of them fleeing, leaving behind dead, wounded, and captured among their ranks.
According to the source, clashes are ongoing on the fronts of Al-Shamayatayn, Al-Ma'afer, and Jabal Habashi, while government forces continue to pursue Houthi elements on the Same' front.
The Media Center stated that government forces and the Popular Resistance continue to repel Houthi attacks on various fronts, adding that, according to the source, dozens of bodies of Houthi elements have remained in mountainous areas and ravines for days after fighters withdrew from the confrontation sites.
