Hadramout: Officials Call for Support for Shelters and Meeting IDPs' Needs
Officials in Hadramout governorate have called on relevant authorities, humanitarian, and community organizations to redouble their efforts, contribute to supporting shelters, and provide necessary supplies for displaced persons, enhancing the local authority's capacity for humanitarian response and mitigating the crisis's impact on affected families.
This came during an inspection on Thursday by the Assistant Deputy Governor of Hadramout for Youth Affairs and Civil Society Organizations, Murad Ba'alawi, and the Director-General of Mukalla City Directorate, Fayyad Ba'amer, of the temporary shelter center in the Sharj bin Talib area, at the western entrance of Mukalla city, to assess its readiness to receive displaced people from areas affected by military escalation.
Ba'alawi and Ba'amer stressed the importance of raising the level of preparedness and coordination between the local authority, government agencies, humanitarian organizations, and civil society to ensure a rapid response to any urgent needs and to enhance efforts aimed at protecting civilians and providing care and basic services to the displaced.
They emphasized the necessity of completing all technical and logistical preparations for the center and unifying efforts among all relevant parties to ensure a responsible and humane handling of the consequences of displacement, in light of the current circumstances in several areas.
