Tawakkol Karman calls on Al-Alimi to investigate Tariq Saleh over Mocha developments
Yemeni activist and Nobel Peace Prize laureate Tawakkol Karman has called on the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, Rashad Al-Alimi, to investigate Tariq Saleh regarding the developments in Mocha.
Karman said on her Facebook account, "I call on the leader, President of the Republic, Rashad Al-Alimi, to dismiss Tariq Afash from the Leadership Council, relieve him of his military duties, and refer him for investigation and trial on charges of conspiracy and treason."
This comes after the fall of the strategic city of Mocha, near Bab al-Mandab, to the Houthis yesterday without a fight.
The National Resistance forces, led by Presidential Leadership Council member Tariq Saleh, had controlled Mocha for about ten years.
