The Ministry of Defense and the General Staff Command launched, on Saturday, general and community mobilization procedures, in implementation of the directives of the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi.

This came during an expanded meeting in Aden chaired by Minister of Defense Lt. Gen. Taher Al-Aqili, while Chief of the General Staff and Commander of Joint Operations Lt. Gen. Saghir bin Aziz participated via video conference from Marib governorate. The meeting was attended by assistants to the Minister of Defense, the Deputy Chief of the General Staff, heads of bodies and their deputies, and department directors at the Ministry of Defense.

The Minister of Defense affirmed that practical measures would be taken to implement the general mobilization decision, including activating human and reserve mobilization channels, organizing reception centers, and assigning various bodies to begin implementing their designated tasks within their respective jurisdictions.

Al-Aqili praised the sacrifices of the armed forces members in their various formations, paying tribute to the martyrs who fell while performing their national duty. He stressed the armed forces' responsibility to defend the homeland and its sovereignty, calling for strengthening military discipline, mobilizing energies, and integrating efforts.

The Minister of Defense stressed the importance of continuing military efforts until state institutions are restored, emphasizing that this stage requires raising the level of readiness and unifying efforts.

For his part, the Chief of the General Staff stated that the declaration of general mobilization represents a national decision that necessitates an organized transition to the highest levels of readiness, unifying capabilities and efforts, and enhancing the efficiency and ability of the armed forces to perform their duties.

Bin Aziz stressed the need to complete the inventory of forces, resources, and needs, and to organize call-up and reinforcement operations in accordance with legal frameworks, while maintaining the command and administrative hierarchy, information accuracy, and rapid response.

He called on commanders to raise the level of discipline and readiness, pay attention to personnel, secure the basic needs of the forces, enhance training and qualification, and work with a team spirit. He noted that this stage requires a unified army, disciplined leadership, institutional decision-making, and integrated national effort.

The Chief of Staff clarified that general mobilization is a national responsibility not limited to military units, but also involves state and community institutions, each within its jurisdiction. This enhances the state's ability to face exceptional circumstances and maintain the continuity of essential services and needs for citizens.

The Deputy Chief of the General Staff, the assistants to the Minister of Defense, the heads of bodies and their deputies, and the directors of the moral guidance and legal departments reviewed the necessary procedures for implementing the general mobilization and the tasks resulting from the decision at various levels of the armed forces.
