Saudi Civil Defense Announces End of Threat in Riyadh, Al-Kharj, and Farasan
The Saudi Civil Defense announced on Saturday the passing of the danger in the city of Riyadh and the governorates of Al-Kharj and Farasan, after issuing alerts to warn of a danger of an unspecified nature.
In separate posts on the "X" platform, the Civil Defense stated that "the danger has passed" in Riyadh, Al-Kharj, and Farasan, without clarifying the nature of the threat that prompted the alerts.
According to Civil Defense announcements since the beginning of Saturday, alerts were issued twice in both Riyadh and Al-Kharj via the National Platform for Early Warning in Emergencies, while one alert was issued in Farasan, before the danger was later declared over in the three locations.
During the alert period, the Civil Defense urged residents to follow the instructions accompanying the warnings and move to safe places before declaring the danger had ended.
The Civil Defense did not report any injuries or damages related to the alerts.
Riyadh is located in the center of the kingdom, while Al-Kharj is part of the Riyadh region and lies southeast of the capital. Farasan belongs to the Jazan region in southwestern Saudi Arabia and consists of an archipelago in the Red Sea off the region's coast.
This followed Friday, which saw a wider range of alerts, as the Civil Defense announced the end of the threat in 7 cities and governorates stretching from the southwest to the northwest of the kingdom.
