Saudi Arabia Declares Threat Over in 5 Governorates After Warning Alerts
The Saudi Civil Defense announced on Friday that the 'threat has passed' in the governorates of Jeddah, Taif, Yanbu, Al-Ula, and Khamis Mushait, after issuing warning alerts via the National Early Warning Platform for Emergencies.
In separate posts on the "X" platform, the Civil Defense stated that the 'threat has passed' in the five governorates, without clarifying the nature of the threat that prompted the alerts.
The Civil Defense had earlier announced the issuance of alerts in Jeddah, Taif, Yanbu, Al-Ula, and Khamis Mushait, urging residents to adhere to the instructions accompanying the warnings.
Official statements did not include details about the nature of the threat or report any damage or injuries resulting from it.
This comes after Saudi authorities announced on Thursday that one person was killed and two others were injured by falling shrapnel from a Houthi drone intercepted over the Taif governorate.
