Syrian Foreign Minister: We Stand with Yemen to Restore Its Sovereignty and Stability
Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad Al-Shaibani affirmed his country's support for the Republic of Yemen in restoring its sovereignty and stability over all its territories.
This came in his speech today, Saturday, during a session on the foundations of regional security as part of the twenty-second session of the Manama Dialogue 2026 conference.
Al-Shaibani called on everyone to support the unity and sovereignty of states, warning that international disregard for challenges, as happened with Syria previously, leads to the transfer of dangers to other regions.
Regarding what was raised about Syria entering regional alliances, he clarified that discussions are underway to evaluate Syria's accession to the “Mecca Alliance,” stressing that Damascus is a fundamental part of the region's security and aligns with any system that protects its stability. He noted that the region is in dire need of developing joint deterrence and defense systems.
