Turkey: We Will Consider Saudi Arabia's Military Needs
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said on Saturday that Saudi Arabia may have some military needs to counter the ongoing attacks by the Houthi group, adding that Turkey will consider these needs within the framework of a trilateral defense agreement signed with Pakistan.
Fidan added to NTV channel that it is unacceptable to make Saudi Arabia a party to the war between the United States and Iran, as it has no desire to be involved. He noted that "proposals to end the fighting have been conveyed to all parties."
Last August, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and Turkey signed the "Mecca Joint Defense Agreement" with the aim of enhancing joint deterrence against any aggression, according to a joint statement.
The statement clarified that the agreement stipulates that any armed attack on one of the three countries is considered an attack on all, as part of strengthening their security and expanding areas of defense cooperation.
