Yemen Embassy in Ankara Lights the Torch of the September 26 Revolution
The Embassy of Yemen in the Turkish capital, Ankara, lit the torch for the 64th anniversary of the September 26 Revolution on Friday evening, in the presence of members of the diplomatic mission and a number of Yemeni community members in Turkey.
During the torch-lighting ceremony, Yemen's Ambassador to Turkey, Mohammed Saleh Tariq, said that the September 26 Revolution will remain firmly in the national memory for the values of republic, freedom, dignity, and patriotism it embodied.
He added that the celebration of the revolution's anniversary comes amidst difficult circumstances Yemen is experiencing due to war and escalation, and the resulting humanitarian, economic, and security repercussions.
Tariq stressed the importance of maintaining unity, cohesion, and adherence to unifying national values.
He praised the honorable image presented by the Yemeni community in Turkey in the fields of work, education, investment, and society, calling for enhanced cooperation, solidarity, respect for the host country's laws, and the preservation of brotherly relations between the Yemeni and Turkish peoples.
