Turkey Illuminates Landmarks with Yemeni Flag Colors for September Revolution Anniversary
The Embassy of Yemen in Ankara announced that several prominent landmarks in the Turkish capital, Ankara, and the city of Istanbul will be illuminated with the colors of the Yemeni flag in celebration of the 64th anniversary of the September 26th Revolution.
In a statement, the embassy said the illumination will take place on the evening of Friday, September 25, 2026, from 8:00 PM until midnight.
It clarified that the event in the capital, Ankara, will include the Atakule Tower, while in Istanbul it will include the Galata Tower and the Bosphorus Bridge, known as the 15 July Martyrs Bridge.
The embassy called on members of the Yemeni community in Ankara and Istanbul to participate in documenting and following the event.
It emphasized that illuminating these landmarks with the colors of the Yemeni flag embodies the significance of the September 26th Revolution anniversary for Yemenis, and at the same time, reflects the deep relations between Yemen and Turkey.
The 64th anniversary of the September 26th Revolution comes this year amidst the ongoing war and division the country has been experiencing for years.
