Free Buses to Transport University Students in Aden
Minister of Transport Mohsen Al-Amri has directed the operation of several Land Transport Corporation buses to transport university students in Aden for free, helping them reach their universities without additional burdens.
According to the Ministry of Transport, students will be transported for free for one month to alleviate their suffering, help them reach their universities without additional burdens, and ensure the continuation of the educational process under the current circumstances. The ministry will cover the cost of diesel and all operational expenses for the buses.
Al-Amri stressed the need for coordination between the relevant authorities to ensure the regular movement of buses and their arrival on student routes, contributing to providing a safe and accessible transport service for them. He directed the competent authorities to agree on and determine the starting points and locations of the buses in line with student gathering spots and their routes.
According to the Ministry of Transport, five buses will be deployed starting next Sunday after arrangements between the authority and the corporation are completed. The routes will be distributed across the districts as follows: a bus for "Tawahi and Mualla", a bus for "Crater and Khormaksar", a bus for "Sheikh Othman and Mansoura", a bus for "Al-Buraiqeh", and a bus for "Dar Saad".
This directive from the Ministry of Transport leadership comes amid the transportation crisis in the interim capital, Aden, and the shortage of transport buses due to the lack of gas, which has made it difficult for students to commute to their universities.
