Kuwait Upholds Yemen's Unity and Territorial Integrity in Any Political Settlement
Kuwait's Crown Prince, Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, said on Thursday that Yemen is witnessing a dangerous military escalation as a result of attacks launched by the Houthi group on a number of governorates and areas on the western coast.
Al-Sabah added, in a speech before the United Nations General Assembly, that the Houthi attacks also aim to threaten maritime navigation in the Bab el-Mandeb strait.
He stressed that any political settlement in Yemen should preserve its unity, sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity, put an end to the suffering of the Yemeni people, and open horizons for security, stability, and economic development.
He affirmed the importance of safeguarding the security and safety of international maritime navigation in the Red Sea and the Bab el-Mandeb strait, while also stressing the importance of preserving freedom of navigation in the straits of Hormuz and Bab el-Mandeb.
The Kuwaiti Crown Prince condemned the Houthi group's attacks on civilian targets in Saudi Arabia, emphasizing that the security of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is an integral part of the security of the State of Kuwait and the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.
