Pezeshkian offers Iranian mediation between Saudi Arabia and the Houthis
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said his country is ready to help resolve the dispute between Saudi Arabia and the Houthi group, while also denying Tehran's connection to the events in Yemen.
Pezeshkian added, in statements to "Al Jazeera," excerpts of which were broadcast on Saturday, "We can help resolve the dispute between Saudi Arabia and Yemen (referring to the Houthis)," adding, "We will not be warmongers."
He said that Saudi Arabia is capable of playing a role in unifying the countries of the Islamic world, while also noting that Qatar and Pakistan are currently mediating between Iran and the United States.
He also noted that what is happening in Yemen is "not related to Iran," adding that his country "stands in solidarity with all who are oppressed."
