Youth Team Beats Dayrout 3-1 in Cairo Friendly Opener
The U-17 national youth team began its friendly matches at its overseas camp in Cairo on Saturday evening, defeating the youth of Egypt's Dayrout Club 3-1 in a match held at the Manial Shiha stadium.
Ali Far'a scored two goals for the team, while Mohammed Sadiq added the third, securing the team's first victory in its preparatory matches in Cairo.
The match is part of the team's preparation program for the 13th West Asian U-17 Championship, scheduled to be held in Aqaba, Jordan. The match allowed national coach Anwar Ashour to test several players and formations and assess the players' readiness.
Ashour started the match with a lineup that included Abdullah Al-Haithami in goal; Khalid Rizq, Mohammed Shafi, Ayman Bagwi, and Abdo Ali in defense; Sailan Bashir, Saber Sanad, Ahmed Al-Yahri, Ali Shafiq, and Ali Far'a in midfield; and Mohammed Sadiq in attack.
