Fierce Clashes on Western Taiz Fronts and Airstrikes on Houthi Positions
The western fronts of Taiz governorate have witnessed a simultaneous field escalation in recent hours, with renewed clashes on several fronts, coinciding with military movements, reinforcements, and airstrikes targeting Houthi group positions.
On the Al-Kadahah front in the Jabal Habashi district, clashes erupted following an attack by government forces on Houthi positions around Jabal Nu'man, in an attempt to recapture the strategic site controlled by the group.
According to military sources, the battles saw mutual advances and retreats between the two sides, while clashes continued in the area amid exchanges of shelling.
Jabal Nu'man holds military importance due to its elevated position overlooking a vast area of the surrounding regions, giving the controlling party a greater ability to monitor movement and deployment lines in the western sector of the governorate.
On the Kahbub front near Bab al-Mandab, clashes renewed between government forces and the Houthis, amid an exchange of shelling, as military tension persists on this front.
In the Al-Shamayatayn district, the escalation extended to the Al-Alqamah, Rasan, and Jardad fronts, where the Houthi group launched attacks on government forces' positions.
Field sources stated that army forces, supported by resistance fighters, repelled the Houthi attacks on the Al-Alqamah-Rasan front, explaining that various weapons were used in the clashes, which ended with the attackers' retreat. The sources did not provide further details on the extent of the losses.
This escalation comes as the western fronts of Taiz are witnessing continuous military movements, with the warring parties attempting to reinforce their positions and maintain contact lines on fronts near vital roads and areas.
