Over 146,000 Displaced in 8 Yemeni Governorates in September
The Executive Unit for IDP Camps Management in Yemen has revealed a new wave of displacement affecting eight governorates due to the recent military escalation, occurring between the beginning of September and the 18th of the month.
The unit stated that it has documented the displacement of 21,583 families, totaling 146,943 individuals, as a result of escalating military developments in several Yemeni regions.
This new wave of displacement comes amid continued military escalation, which exacerbates the humanitarian situation for civilians and increases pressure on displacement camps and host communities, at a time when the humanitarian response in Yemen faces growing challenges.
The data indicated that the monitored period witnessed a large-scale displacement movement from areas affected by the escalation towards safer regions, amidst increasing needs for displaced families in shelter, food, and basic services.
